Day 111

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Kirsten arrived in Hobart this morning, smiling, in great form and happy to be at sea as usual. She stayed two hours in Storm Bay, climbing up the mast before heading down to the Tasmanian Sea after Simon, stuck in a hole 120 miles further south. Behind Abhilash is making most of the situation to reduce the gap, covering 157 miles this morning less than 100 nm from Kirsten, and now 90 miles from the gate, which he should cross tonight.

Michael has come out of the low pressure unscathed and is clocking up the miles (132 this morning) confirming his ETA for the new year, “the sea, sun, and speed are up” for a rock’n’roll Christmas!  Jeremy, who has also picked up a good pace, is celebrating his 60th birthday at sea, enjoying a bit of south and sailing with his numerous friends of #sailingwith. Happy birthday Jeremy!

Ian is enjoying a Christmas run of 134 miles and excellent averages for an expected finish, now well ahead of the deadline, ETA 17 January! Elliott sees his wishes fulfilled, finally getting some wind as the bubble escapes to the east. Guy is in the Agulhas current, in pursuit of the low-pressure system that will take him south, another 117 miles this morning for the Briton, who can’t wait for some southern swell!
