G°G°R Schools Programme
The high seas, a great adventure – maybe pirates? The GGR is a world of imagination for most of us, wondering how it must be to face the Southern Ocean or sail around the Great Capes. But those who have the biggest imagination are our children.
The agglomeration of Les Sables d’Olonne and the GGR have teamed up to create a unique educational programme with two goals:
- Providing an educational programme for children in the theme of the Golden Globe Race.
- Create a cross-cultural link and experience between a local school in Les Sables d’Olonne and a local school of each GGR entrant through the fascination of round the world sailing.
Les Sables d’Olonne created multiple exciting board games to send Léo, a local fictional hero from ‘Les Aventuriers de l’Océan’, around the world! The games will be available for download on this page shortly.
On top of that, the classes of the local school in LSO will get the chance to visit the GGR Headquarters, meet the team and the skippers before and during the race.
