Day 96

TGIF!

Simon is the fastest today with 153 miles in 24 hours, widening the gap with the whole fleet. Abhilash and Kirsten will have a very fresh north-westerly today and tomorrow which should allow a better pace despite uncomfortable, confused seas. Kirsten is only a day away from the end of the exclusion zone, and will no doubt enjoy diving south!

Michael and Jeremy are in a good WSW veering progressively WNW this weekend with the sea pushing them in the right direction, helping with progress. Ian is stuck today at 42°S in the centre of a high but not tomorrow. Elliott, wiser by the day, decided to not get annoyed anymore and continue his “longue route” journey, heading south again into the 40°.

In the Atlantic, Guy, 200 miles from Cape Town, will have 25 knots of SE all weekend to send him into the final stretch, Arnaud plans to make landfall in St Helena on Monday and is thinking of sailing around the Caribbean on the way back. Pat is sailing Ertan’s Rustler towards Europe and is thinking about the GGR 2026!
