Day 158

They are through!

Kirsten and Abhilash got through the second storm and did not signal any issue. The Navy Commander chose to stay north in more manageable weather, as Bayanat suffered previously from stronger conditions than Minnehaha. They have resumed their SE course towards Cape Horn and should have relatively good weather until the end of next week. They are 800 and 1000 miles from Cape Horn respectively.

Along the line, Michael gybed twice to ensure he wouldn’t cut the corner of the exclusion zone and will exit the zone today. Meanwhile, Jeremy in Chichester and Ian in Suhaili are still struggling with unstable SSE winds and SW seas, Jeremy will have a localised gale on his position tomorrow evening.

In Australia, Guy arrives in Hobart after a long sail along the Tasmanian coast. The GGR organised his entry formalities. In Chile, Simon is almost finished with Clara’s refit and is mentally preparing to set sail again in solitude. He should join Capt Gugg in the screaming 50s. The friendly but fierce duel of the Biscay 36 is on!
